Sanity loss

Description

When you accept the tenure in Miskatonic University, your SAN meter is set to zero. It means that you can't get more mad than you already are, but it also means that you are 100% more inclined to chase the madness-inducing monsters than running from them to save your life.

------

In case you are wondering, the sanity loss was aaaaall mine.

I mean, it was midnight. I should go to bed, but I didn't have to work the next day and I thought "hey, I have this idea for a quick strip, I've thinking about drawing Danforth for a while, I'm sure I can hammer the linework for a strip in an hour tops".

Five hours of work later, I've finished a strip with: body language, backgrounds, adult people and an actual care about anatomy. And all of that time and technique was wasted on my original work? Of course not. It all went to some silly fancomic following a (relatively obscure) Lovecraft book. SCREW YOU BRAIN.

-------

Look, I know that Dyer is 54 in "At the Mountains of Madness", and he looks a lot younger than that up there. The thing is, originally, I was very faithful to his age. Then, when I decided to put the "Arkham Society" timeline in the biggest "Bram & Vlad" timeline where it belongs, there were some... bugs. I could make Dyer 10 years younger or I could spend one or two hours fiddling with my whole timeline to make it right, plus the edition of a large part in the first chapter of my fanfic, "The Call of the Mountains of Madness".

To solve this, I threw my fanfiction author honor through the window and decided that Lovecraft's editor committed a little typo in Dyer's age and he is actually 45 in "At the Mountains...". Sorry, Lovecraft. I had to soothe my obsession to detail somehow before losing a chunk of my life over a silly matter and it was everything I got. It's stupid, it's clumsy, but it works. Considering that Lovecraft himself made tons of corrections in the first edition of At the Mountains of Madness, it's something that could have slipped undetected. That's my story and I'll go with that. Shut up, you all.
