Bram's Vampire Hunting Handbook
Introduction
Hello! I am Abraham van Helsing IV, the latest collaborator to the Vampire Hunter Handbook. This leaflet on your hands is the answer to a plea that has been made to our family for years: a redux of our classic Handbook for novice hunters that, for some reason, do not feel engaged enough into reading its 1078 pages.
Please note that reading the full version is still highly recommended for experienced hunters. Put that leaflet down and come back to your reading, Belmont. There will be a quiz.
Anyway. In the next 30 chapters, I will discuss the basic information that all newbie hunters need in order to start their career, either as field hunters or as researchers. In the end of each chapter, there will be references to the actual Handbook, for further information.
The first part will concern the vampires themselves, while the second concerns hunters and hunting techniques. Read the first part. Seriously.
All in all, good reading and remember my family's motto: "It is not paranoia if they are coming after you."
There are no such thing as overpreparing. Stay informed. Stay alive.
So, I decided to do a 30-day challenge, but a different one. I'll post daily notes on vampires and vampire hunters in Bram & Vlad universe under the framing of Bram summarizing the Vampire Hunter Handbook, possibly the biggest endeavour of his family.
There will be comics soon. This challenge is just to warm me up to Year 10.
Enjoy!

Chapter 1 - Identifying a vampire
The first thing any hunter needs to know is how to identify a target correctly. No one wants to go to jail for mistakingly murdering a goth teenager, after all.
A vampire hunter cannot abstract away from the observational skills that allow them to identify a disguised vampire. It is true that most hunters have half-vampire heritage, thus being able to feel a vampire in any circumstance, but there are no certainties when magic is concerned. It is not wise to be overconfident and let your guard down.
That said, the first piece of knowledge that any hunter needs to know is the precise definition of 'vampire'.
Figuratively, people call 'vampires' any creature that feeds on some kind of life force. Howeveer, not all of them can be counted as a valid target by a vampire hunter. Since the Amsterdam Treaties of 1899[1], the Vampire Hunter Association defines 'vampire' as anyone who is accepted a
